Hyderabad will become a Crime free city

Hyderabad, February 18: The Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali has appeared as a Chief guest for an awareness campaign of March 5k at Necklace Road on Friday, which was hosted by the City Police.

He says that "The Telangana Government is trying to make the Hyderabad city into Crime free City".

The run will be conducted in two categories, 5 Km and 2 Km and also Pram Walk with an expected footfall of 7000 will be conducted.

A Women’s Expo with over 50 stalls as part of the campaign will be inaugurated on March 4. Multiple competitions will be organized in categories like short films, photography, painting, and poetry relating to women’s safety, cyber crime and child abuse issues.

City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy said on Friday after launching a poster for the campaign.
The campaign has been conceived to raise awareness among girls, women on the responsible usage of Digital Technologies and participation in online community activities.

There is also a need to create awareness among children as well as adults regarding child sexual abuse and this campaign will also help in this regard, he said.

Those who are interested in taking part in the awareness run can register their names at www.sheforchange.com.

The registration is free and all participants will be given a specially designed medal along with breakfast and a goody bag, Mahendra Reddy said.

People interested in taking part in competitions may submit their entries directly at Bharosa Centre, Ground Floor, HACA Bhavan, Saifabad, Hyderabad. The winning entries will be awarded on March 5k.

The Last date for submission of entries is February 28. Earlier in the day, South Zone Police organized a 5K run from Charminar to Barkas to create awareness among the citizens for a crime free Hyderabad.

Deputy Chief Minister, Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Home Minister, Nayani Narsimha Reddy, Olympic medallist P V Sindhu, City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy flagged off the 5K run from Charminar.
