Student committed suicide for his poor performance in Exams

Vijayawada February 16: An SSC student of Ravindra Bharati Public School in Kasturibaipet here committed suicide in his hostel room on Wednesday, apparently worried over his performance in the public exams in March.

"At around 2 pm when his roommates were away, K Sai Charan took the extreme step by hanging to a ceiling fan," said Machavaram circle inspector Umamaheswara Rao. However, he did not leave any suicide note in the room. He was 14 years old.

Charan, who hailed from AT Agraharam near Guntur, was a good student and came back to the school after spending some time with parents. "Prima facie, it looks he has committed suicide owing to exam pressure. The exact cause of his death will be known after the autopsy report," the CI added.
