CM sanctioned 10 cr for  Welfare of journalists

Hyderabad February 15: Telangana Government decided to sanction 10 crores every year for the welfare of journalists said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday.

At a review meeting, the Chief Minister said he would personally meet family members of journalists, who passed away, and extend help to them as part of 'Janahita' programme to be held on Friday at Pragati Bhavan.

The fund allocated to journalists would be used to pay pension to families of deceased journalists. An amount of Rs. 3,000 a month would be paid to such families for five years, he said.

He also said that Children of journalists studying abroad would get Overseas Scholarship.

and Assistance would also be given to journalists pursuing courses abroad.

Minister K.T. Rama Rao, Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana, Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma and senior journalists attended the review programme.
