Shabbir Ali alleges on making Samantha as Brand ambassador

Hyderabad, February 15: Telangana Congress leader in legislative council Md Shabbir Ali wondered why Samantha, who was not a Telugu girl leave alone from Telangana, was chosen as a brand ambassador for handlooms.

"Telangana handlooms are popular across the world. And it was the result of sweat and blood of Telangana womenfolk. Did textile minister K T Rama Rao not find even a single Telangana woman to promote handlooms? It is an insult to Telangana women," Shabbir Ali said.

The TPCC leader alleged that KTR had chosen Samantha only because she happens to be the would-be daughter-in-law of senior actor Akkineni Nagarjuna with whom the former had business links.

In the name of brand ambassador, Samantha would be paid huge amounts towards remuneration for promoting the handlooms, he said.
