Samantha replaces Pawan Kalyan

Hyderabad, February 1: As We know that, Actor and Janasena Party President Pawan Kalyan would be the brand ambassador for handlooms since from two weeks, which was announced by Telangana IT Minister K T Rama rao.Now Pawan was denied by KTR due some reasons on Tuesday.

Though it was not said in so many words KTR, who also holds the handlooms portfolio, roped in actress Samantha to be the brand ambassador for handlooms in Telangana.

On January 17, following a meeting with weavers from both Telangana and AP, Pawan Kalyan had announced that he had decided to be the brand ambassador for handlooms.

It is common knowledge that Pawan Kalyan and the TRS leadership are not on the best of terms. As if brushing aside the self-proclaimed brand ambassador of handlooms Pawan Kalyan, KTR announced that Samantha would be the brand ambassador.

She met Minister K. Taraka Rama Rao at an event at Metro Rail Bhavan where the former explained about the State Government plans to promote handlooms.

The actress complimented the Minister for taking up the programme and instantly offered to support it.

Ms. Samantha agreed to be the brand ambassador for promoting the handlooms. She also explained her plans to promote the fabric to the officials present there and discussed with them how value addition could be done to Pochampally and Ikkat.

She also suggested that digital printing techniques could be used to improve the marketing of powerlooms fabrics of Sircilla.

Principal Secretary (Industries) Jayesh Ranjan and Director of TSCO Shailaja Ramaiyer and others were present.
