2-years-old child passed away due to swine-flu

Hyderabad, February 1: Currently, we can observe that, the number of swine flu infected patients had increased significantly since from last four weeks in Hyderabad.

Swine flu claimed one more victim with the death of a two-year-old girl at Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday. The deadly virus has claimed seven lives in January alone. The number of positive cases has gone up to 130.

"The baby girl was on a ventilator at our hospital for the last four days. Her condition worsened as she developed fits during treatment," said Dr. J V Reddy, superintendent, Gandhi Hospital.

However, there is a serious cause of concern for the health authorities given that the Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM) continues to detect fresh H1N1 cases every day.

Since January 1, the IPM has detected as many as 130 positive cases, including 8 on Tuesday.
