Bengaluru January 30: The Former Karnataka CM SM Krishna has quit the congress on Saturday and he was planning to meet PM Narendra Modi by coming days.

SM Krishna has been in Congress party nearly for 50 years and he had taken a decision that he want to come out of the Congress Party.

He said that the Party has not given preference to him and many of the leaders have sidelined him. The Senior leaders in the Congress party including Chief Minister Siddarmaiah and the State President of the Party G. Parameshwara they both said they didn't know about SM Krishna Resign to the party.

"I felt for some time that Congress doesn't need me, the party now depends on situation managers. They do not want time-tested leaders and workers," said Mr. Krishna.

SM Krishna had served as a central minister under former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and had been the External Affairs Minister in the Manmohan Singh government since 2009.

SM Krishna had won elections and have been Defeated he said According to me age is a state of mind, age shouldn't be criteria.Mr Krishna said that there are young people in the party but they are not active.

Aiming to return to active politics, he had toured the state extensively to campaign ahead of the 2013 assembly elections in the state, which the Congress won. "Nobody questioned my age then. Unfortunately, it is somebody else who decides, not me," he said.
