2 men arrested for making fake job offers

Hyderabad January 29: Two men were arrested by the cyber crime wing of cyberabad police for cheating several unemployed youths by sending fake offer letters in the name of reputed companies. The accused were produced in a local court in Kukatpally on Saturday.

The culprits, based out of Delhi, virtually set up a call center to contact and cheat gullible victims.

The police said Rahul Gaurav, 23, and Arjun Singh,22, and four others had floated a company called AS group Consultancy with the address at WEST GURU ANGADH Nagar in New Delhi.Then they started contacting people who uploaded their resumes on job portals like WWW.SHINE .COM

Based on contact numbers given in the resume, they used to contact job seekers over the phone and say that they were had been selected for INDIGO AIRLINES or any other reputed company."The accused would send an email with details of pay package and other benefits and make the offer letter look like an authentic one" said inspector Venkat.

Police said here Sravan Kumar, a student from SUraram colony, approached police informing he was sent an Indigo Airline offer letter. During a conversation with a Tele caller, he was asked to deposit Rupees 12150 as a security deposit and the victim was given a PAYTM bar code.

Later citing various reasons, the culprit, in a phased manner, collected rupees 1.2 lakhs after some time, another person called up Sravan introducing himself as an HR Manager of Indigo Airlines and told him to deposit money in a Canara bank account.
