Gannavaram airport rename as Amaravathi airport

Vijayawada January 12: Andhra Pradesh's Gannavaram airport has been renamed with Amaravathi airport.
In-depth into the matter, Ahead of the unveiling of the much-awaited swanky new terminal at the Gannavaram airport on Thursday , chief minister Chandrababu has written a letter to the Union civil aviation ministry to rename Gannavaram airport as Amaravati airport.
Till the greenfield airport becomes a reality in Mangalagiri, which officials say will take at least 30 years, the GOVT will use Amaravati airport as the capital's airport.
The inauguration will be done by CM Chandrababu at 12.30 pm on Thursday. Foundation stone for expansion and strengthening of the runway will also be laid.
