T Natarajan ruled out from Ipl

T Natarajan's knee injury has been aggravated and he is set to miss out on the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League. The 30-year-old left-arm pacer may be advised not to take further part in the tournament. He has played only two matches this season and Sunrisers Hyderabad may have to look for a replacement.

Sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the IPL have revealed that the pacer could be asked to report back to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. At what stage the problem became serious is not known but Natarajan, who spent about two months at the NCA after the Australia tour, did not take part in the last two IPL games for SRH. His last game was against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai on April 11.

The NCA physios have been monitoring his fitness status and have reported to the BCCI about the aggravation. It is now expected that the BCCI will ask the franchise to release the pacer, who is still understood to be with SRH in Chennai. "We have not got the full report but we have been told that he has developed a strain in the knee. He will have to undergo rehab in the NCA," said the source.

When Sunrisers captain David Warner spoke about him after the game against Punjab Kings, there was no indication that the Tamil Nadu bowler will have to miss the IPL altogether. "He has obviously got a sore knee. Given the circumstance in these bubbles, if he goes and gets a scan, he obviously has to sit out for seven days. He has to get back in quarantine. We are just monitoring him at the moment. The physios are doing their best to analyse from a face point of view but he obviously has to go out and get a scan at some point,"
