Telangana to perform 40,000 tests per day

A week ago, Telangana cabinet decided to ramp up the testing process in the state and advised the medical authorities to perform over 40,000 tests per day.


However, the cabinet decision seems to have gone for a toss as not more than 26,000 -27,000 tests are being performed per day in Telangana.

Telangana government is now facing the heat for not implementing its own decision to ramp up the testing procedure.

Telangana has tested a total of around 7,44,000 samples till date which is much lower when compared to its neighbouring state Andhra Pradesh which has done over 28,00,000 tests till now.

Telangana has reported a total of 91,361 Covid-19 positive cases till date.

It remains to be seen if the government of Telangana will stand by its statement and perform over 40,000 tests per day in the near future.
