We are not planning these schemes with elections in mind

The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke with media today on the occasion of independence day and made some interesting comments about three capitals.

"It is really important that our state witnesses overall development. We will start working on Vizag and Kurnool which will be the other two capitals along with Amaravati soon. Background works have commenced already and we will achieve more progress in the days to come," he said.

Speaking about his welfare schemes, Jagan said, "The welfare schemes that we are implementing today will yield results in 10-20 years. We are not planning these schemes with elections in mind, but rather long term progress."

Jagan says the YCP government will soon be laying the foundation stone for Vizag and Kurnool as executive and judicial capitals.

It is known that the high court of Andhra Pradesh issued a status quo order on the state government's three capitals proposal.
