India continues to see a surge in the number of new cases, with more and more people testing positive on a daily basis. The total number of cases have gone past the mark of 2 Million cases, with more than 60,000 cases being reported in a single day, for the second day in a row.
Although the number of active cases is much lesser than the number of recovered cases, the rate at which the cases are increasing is still very much worrisome.
India is the third most affected country due to Coronavirus, right behind the USA and Brazil.
While Maharashtra continues to be the worst hit state in the country, South Indian states Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu contribute to more number of cases, comprising 40% of the total number of cases in India.
Andhra Pradesh has a total number of active cases of 84,654, Karnataka's active cases are 77,694, and Tamil Nadu has a total of 52,759 active cases. These three states follow right behind Maharashtra.
