24 people died in UP, in a truck accident

Many migrant workers who have been stuck in other states due to the Coronavirus lockdown have been trying to get back to their home towns for a long time now.

Similarly, several migrants were going back to Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal from Rajasthan and Delhi. These migrants were going home by trucks that were transporting food packets.

When one truck stopped at a dhaba for tea, that was when the collision happened between two trucks, and 24 people died as a result. This collision happened in the Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh.

Several others fell to the ground from the trucks after the collision, and were helped by police and the locals.

This is not the first time that migrants are trying to get back home on their own. Despite the government's efforts to transport everyone with special trains, migrant workers are still resorting to other means of transport, resulting in tragedies.
