Bookings for 15 trains begin today

The Indian Railways stopped functioning in over a hundred years, after a nationwide lockdown was announced on March 25th, to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

As a result, many people are now stuck in other states and cities, and are not able to reach their homes. Many working class people have been sent from other states to their home states in the last week, but other people are still stuck.

The Railways have now opened booking for 15 air conditioned trains, which will be running from May 12th, as part of the gradual relaxation of the lockdown.

The country is now 54 days into the lockdown, and this is the last week, with the lockdown ending on May 17th. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to interact with the Chief Ministers of various states today, and they are reported to be discussing an exit plan for this lockdown.

On the other hand, the Telangana government has extended the lockdown till May 29th, and it is now to be seen if any relaxations will be in the red zones given after May 17th.
