India to reach 75,000 cases in next 5 days?

A few weeks ago, experts said that India would see a decrease in the number of new cases by mid-May and that the cases would slowly go down to zero from there.

However, the past few weeks have seen a steady increase in the number of new cases, resulting in the current situation of more than 50,000 cases in the country. The number of cases increased at a rate of 14% over the past two days, which is lesser when compared to the 17% rate at which the cases increased before that.

The number of new cases has increased by 25% this week, from Monday to Thursday, and they are expected to increase furthermore as the days pass by.

Looking at the above numbers, experts say that India will reach or cross the mark of 75,000 cases in the next five days.

The government of India is doing everything it can to curb the spread of the virus and has also ramped up testing to identify more infected people as soon as possible.
