CORONA Virus: What is India Situation?

Experts have been repeatedly saying that the trajectory of new Coronavirus cases in India will slowly come down to almost zero by mid-May. With the number of cases India has been seeing on a single day, over the past few weeks, the trajectory coming down felt impossible.

According to the latest reports, the doubling rate in India has increased, hinting that new cases are indeed coming down. The doubling rate now stands at 12%, lesser when compared to the 14% two days ago.

The new cases have gone up by 18%, lesser when compared to the 24% they went up by last week. Looking at these number, it feels like the trajectory might indeed come down by mid-May, but there's no guarantee yet.

India is still seeing a steep increase in the number of new cases when compared to other Asian countries such as Japan and Indonesia. The government will have to come up with a better plan to be able to further control the situation.
