Jagan Is No Exception: CBI Court

The CBI Court previously declared that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y Jagan Mohan Reddy is to be present in court for his illegal assets case, and that no kind of exceptions would be made. Complying to this, the CM has been attending court every Friday, to hear the case.

This Friday, however, the CM hasn't been able to attend court due to commitments relating to his CM post. With regard to this, the CM had also submitted an absent petition to the court last week. In the petition, Jagan requested that he be given an exception where he need not be present in-person to hear the proceedings of the case.

While the court seems to have not taken the petition or request seriously, it most certainly did give an exception for this one week, and has postponed this week's session to next week. This will be taken up next Friday, that is, 24th January 2020.

This case has others involved in it, along with Jagan, including Vijay Sai Reddy, ex-minister Dharma Prasada Rao, IAS officer Sri Lakshmi, and Telangana Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy.
