NEW DELHI: Israel has congratulated India by writing the lyrics of 1975 superhit Bollywood film Sholay's song "Ye Dosti Hum Nhi Todenge." on the social media platform on the occasion of Friendship Day on Sunday. The Israeli Embassy in India tweeted, "Happy Friendship Day 2019 India. Our old friendships become stronger and the growing partnership touches new heights."
The embassy then tweeted in Hindi the lyrics of the hit songs filmed by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharamdra in the superhit film Sholay, saying, " Ye Dosti Hum Nhi Todenge."
A short video with the images is also posted on social media. It may be mentioned that last month a 10-floor high poster of PM Modi and his Israeli counterpart was installed at the headquarters of the ruling Likud Party in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The banner was put up in Israel as part of the campaign for the September 17 Lok Sabha elections. Besides PM Modi, Netanyahu has also posters of US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Netanyahu was one of the first international leaders to congratulate Narendra Modi on becoming PM for the second time.
