Tollywood actress Sonaskhi Varma got cheated online

With the increase in usage of technology, there is a huge rise in online crimes across the country. Nigerian gangs have been looting the innocents in huge number despite of cybercrime taking enough care. Now, Tollywood actress Sonaskhi Varma got cheated online. She received a friend request on facebook with the name Merreen Kirrak and she accepted the request. He said that he resides in London and wanted to turn a close friend for Sonakshi and she accepted his friendship.

After some days, Kirrak said that he is sending a gift for her and it reaches Delhi Airport after which it reaches Hyderabad. Soon on May 27th, Sonakshi received a call saying that he is speaking from Delhi Airport Authorities. She was asked to pay Rs 85,000 to receive the gift from Merreeen Kirrak. Believing this, she deposited the amount in the named bank account. After a week's wait, she called the number and received no response. It is then Sonakshi realized that she got cheated and complained in the cybercrime police station. The investigation is currently on.
