Vidya Balan was the first choice of Jayalalithaa's biopic

Chennai, Apr 07: Former CM of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa enjoys a huge fan following among masses. Many filmmakers in Tamil Nadu are coming with a biopic on Jayalalithaa following her tragic demise.

The biopic that caught the attention of all is AL.Vijay's titled Thalaivi. People across the country got thrilled when the makers roped in Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut for the lead role.

Kangana too made clear that though her personality is different from Jayalalithaa, she decided to do the film. Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali fame is penning the script for the film.

In the midst of all this, it is coming out that the makers first choice was not Kangana Ranaut but Vidya Balan. However Vidya Balan couldn't sign the film as she already gave her consent for a webseries on former PM Indira Gandhi based on Sagarika Ghose’s book, Indira: India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister.

A source shares "Vidya did not take it up because she felt she would do injustice to it, as around the same time, she had planned to work on her ambitious Indira Gandhi web series which she wants to make since nearly a year now."
