NSS plays a crucial role

Hyderabad, March 6: Kakatiya University(KU) Vice-chancellor Prof. R Sayanna has lust the role of National Service Scheme(NSS) volunteers in the enormous development of rural areas in Hanmakonda.

While speaking at a one-day workshop in the presence of Sunkari Jyothi on 'Rural Community Engagement for NSS Programme Officers' here on Tuesday, he said that NSS volunteers play a key role in compiling information about the problems faced by the people in the rural areas.

"A questionnaire that records the details of rural lifestyle, reach of government programmes and welfare schemes to rural folk etc should be prepared and a survey need to be conducted by the NSS volunteers to help the administration," V-C said.

B Prabhakar, who was the official of Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education State has hinted that they have plans to organise a seven days faculty development programme under community engagement.
