From YSRCP to TDP

Amaravathi December 21 : A BIG BLOW for YSRCP Party as YSRCP Pamarru MLA Uppuleti Kalpana likely to join ruling TDP very soon. Today She met AP TDP President Kala Venkat Rao to discuss the future course of action and to get necessary assurances for her political future.
It is heard that Pamarru TDP in-charge Varla Ramaiah hardly opposing Kalpana's entry and conveyed his displeasure to Kala Venkat Rao. He is planning to meet TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh over this issue.
She represents Pamarru constituency of Krishna District. It is a SC reserved constituency. In 2009 general elections U. Kalpana contested on TDP ticket but defeated by Congress's Dovari Yesu Das with 6,940 votes margin.
In 2014 she shifted the strategy and contested on YSRCP ticket and registered success by defeating TDP's Varla Ramaiah with a thin margin of 1,069 votes.
