Andhra Pradesh elections date confirmed

Amaravati, Feb 27: If the reports from New Delhi are to be believed, elections to 175 assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh will be held on April 30.

According to these reports, the Election Commission of India has prepared a draft election schedule for the general elections and is working out the finer details. In all probability, the EC might announce the election schedule on March 3.

The election notification will be issued in the first week of April and the elections will be held on April 30. The counting of votes and declaration of election results will be done on May 6.

Subsequently, the schedule for Lok Sabha elections across the country will also be released on March 3. These elections will be held in three or phases starting from the last week of April to May 3. The election results will be declared all over the country simultaneously on May 6.

Once the schedule is announced, the model code of conduct will come into operation immediately. It means, only 4 days are left for the Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh to make any new promises/implement new schemes/launch any programmes.
