Happy Birthday Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 68 here on today.As part of the celebrations, the prime minister will be travelling to his constituency of Varanasi to celebrate with schoolchildren.

Happy Birthday PM Modi was the top trending topic in India, with leaders and celebrities forgetting their political differences and wishing the prime minister.

President Ramnath Kovind wrote on Twitter, “Birthday greetings to our Prime Minister @narendramodi. Wish him a long life and many years of dedicated service to the people of the country #PresidentKovind.” Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh wished PM Modi good health and long life.

The preparations for his visit are currently underway in the town. The prime minister will spend the day with children of a primary school aided by a non-profit organisation. In Tamil Nadu, BJP celebrated PM Modi's birthday by gifting gold rings to newborns.

According to officials, he will later pray to Lord Shiva at the Kashi Vishwanath temple and later watch a film "Chalo Jeete Hain" inspired by his life along with a few school children. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited his 98-year-old mother, Hiraba, on the outskirts of Gujarat's Gandhinagar on his last birthday, before going on to dedicate the Sardar Sarovar Dam to the nation.
