Hyderabad: Telangana Congress has accused caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) of being involved in human trafficking and using police to intimidate opposition parties.
These allegations were made by Telangana Congress chief Captain N Uttam Kumar Reddy. He said, "I have all evidence to prove that KCR and his personal assistants are involved in human trafficking."
Reddy was making these allegations in response to the arrest of Congress leader Jagga Reddy. The Congress claims that he has been framed in a case of human trafficking and was arrested because of his popularity, ahead of the assembly polls.
"According to the document available with me, KCR has given recommendation letters for eight people and Harish Rao has sent a Gujarati woman and her daughter to the US by showing them as his own wife and daughter," the state Congress chief said. He alleged that the personal assistance to the chief minister, Ajeeth Reddy was also involved in the "racket".
Reddy accused the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief of "misusing police" to target Congress leaders as the state heads for assembly election.
The state Congress chief said the same will be done to TRS leaders once the Congress wins the upcoming election. He said in reference to the arrest of Congress leader Jagga Reddy.
The Congress has alleged that "He is innocent and has been framed in a case of human trafficking. Besides attacking the CM, the Congress leader also asked Director General of Police (DGP) Mahender Reddy to act as per law. We cannot allow you to turn Telangana into a police state," the Telangana Congress chief said.
