Indian Fast Bowler Ishant Sharma became only the seventh Indian bowler to complete 250 Test wickets when he had England skipper Joe Root leg before wicket for four on day one of fourth India vs England Test at The Ageas Bowl, Southampton on Thursday.
Ishant also became only the seventh Indian bowler to take 50 or more wickets against England in Tests.
Among pacers, he is the third to the milestone after Kapil Dev and Zaheer Khan.
Overall the Delhi pacer is the 44th bowler in Test history to claims 250 wickets and 31st among pacers.
The tall and lanky pacer is the second slowest ever to 250 wickets in terms of Tests played – 86 Only Jacques Kallis (121) have taken more Tests to the milestone. Among specialist bowlers, Daniel Vettori (81) is the next slowest to reach this feat.
