Huge Jolt for Indian IT professionals

The United States has extended the temporary suspension of premium processing for H1-B visas, popular among Indian IT professionals, as part of its efforts to clear the backlog.
According to the sources, Premium processing is a feature that shortens the usual processing time for H-1B visa petitions from an average of six months to 15 calendar days for a fee of $1,225 (Rs 86,181). It allows some companies to jump the queue.
According to the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (US CIS), the standard H1B visa applications are pending because of premium policy. It has therefore disclosed premium applications for another six months. The US CIS decided to suspend premium H1B applications for six months in March this year. It has been issued freshly up to February next year.
Most Indian IT professionals go to the US on this visa. With the latest decision, India IT professionals can not be taken to the US within 15 days.
