Hyderabad: Infant girl crushed to death by Minibus

Hyderabad, Aug 28: Here is a tragic incident has occurred here on Monday, while 18 month-old girl was crushed to death by a private school's minibus at SriSri Antapuram Colony in Adibhatla here.

The Information reported that the victim was identified as B. Pratheeka, daughter of an armed reserve constable B Venkatesh. Death was instant for her as she suffered head injuries. On Monday, around 8.30 a.m. the toddler's mother B. Chandana came out of her house to see off her son Prajwal, an LKG student, who boarded the school's mini bus, police said.

"The woman was helping her son to get inside the school bus and did not notice Pratheeka, who was standing close to the front wheel of the bus," said Adibatla SI Mohan Reddy. Soon after Prajwal got in, the driver Sattaiah moved the vehicle forward and ran over the girl, Mr Reddy said.

The driver did not notice the child standing near the front wheel as she was out of his sight. He said that by the time the police reached the spot, the driver was absconding.

Further probe is underway.
