Telangana IT Minister KTR about Early Polls

Hyderabad, Aug 27: Telangana IT and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao said that the ruling TRS in Telangana would score an emphatic victory whenever Legislative Assembly elections are held.

Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday addressed the media amidst the reports surfacing that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is set to announce dissolving the Assembly on September 6.

Clarifying that a decision on dissolving the Assembly and the possibility for early elections will be taken in four days, KTR said that the countdown has begun to finalize the early elections.

The Minister further dismissed the Telangana Congress leader Revanth Reddy's remarks that KCR and the TRS government looted the state adding that they have looted Telangana people's hearts and not money as alleged by the opposition.

When asked about the speculation, KTR said, "When that decision comes, you ask us and we will answer questions on it. Either ways, why is the opposition so scared of early polls? Are they scared to approach the people?"

"People are ready to vote for us, no matter what. They are coming out in huge numbers. We have no need to offer money, like some have alleged. No matter when the polls are held, people are ready to make us win 100% of the seats. We have won in every bye-poll and minor election since we came to power in the state," KTR told reporters.

He also lashed out at the opposition for their comments and said that the people itself will respond to them.

"The Congress' bosses are in Delhi. Our bosses are here. This meeting is being held to express gratitude to the people who voted us into power and gave us the mandate and the government for this term. We are answerable only to them," he added.

KTR was speaking to reporters after looking at the arrangements made for a massive public meeting, Pragathi Nivedana Sabha, organized by the TRS on September 2.

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao met Union Minister for Home Affairs Rajnath Singh, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in New Delhi on Sunday, along with TRS MPs B. Vinod Kumar and Sri Boora Narsaiah Goud.
