Hyderabad: Woman crushed to death by moving train

Hyderabad, Aug 23: In a horrific incident, A 43-year old woman died after she accidentally slipped and fell from a moving train and came under the wheels at Medchal Railway Station here on Thursday morning.

The information reported that, The deceased victim was identified as Laxmi Narsamma, a bangle seller from Venkatram Reddy Nagar in Medchal District.

According to the Government Railway Police, Narsamma came to the railway station around 7 am to take the Nanded passenger from Medchal to Odiyaram. It is suspected that Narsamma tried to board the train, when it suddenly started moving. She lost her balance and fell down.

"She was hurriedly boarding the train when it started to leave the platform. She could not get a foothold onto the train and slipped. She fell down and came under the wheels of the train," police said adding she was crushed to death on the spot.

The fellow passengers who noticed this tried to rescue her, but in vain. It was late by then.

The GRP booked a case and started probing. The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue and was handed over to her family after an autopsy later.
