Ghastly Incident: Speeding truck hits Car, 5 killed

Chittoor, Aug 22: In a ghastly incident, five people were killed in Kadapalle of Shantipuram Mandal near here.

A speeding truck collided with a car, that was going from Virupakshapuram to Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu, killing all those in it.

The information reported that The deceased was, belong to the same family. Among the dead, four were men, while the fifth was an old lady. Three of the deceased have been identified as Ramamurthy, Mohan and Shekar.

According to police, the deceased were from Tamil Nadu and one among them, Ramamurthy was suffering from paralysis. They had come to Virupkashpuram, famous for Ayurvedic treatment to paralytic persons. After having taken the medicine, they were on their way back to Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu.

En route, at Kadapalle, a speeding truck from the opposite direction collided head-on. Four of the five deceased died on the spot, while another person died while being treated in a local government hospital.

The dead bodies were shifted to Kuppam government hospital and the family members were informed about the accident. The police have arrested the truck driver and are investigating the case.
