Dog Bites Rapist, Saves 14-Year-Old Girl

Sagar, Aug 21: Amidst increasing number of death sentences to rape accused, three persons were booked for rape in Sagar district, two of them were accused of Gang rape. The gang rape survivor was saved by her pet dog. After the girl shouted and called her pet and the dog attacked the criminals, they ran away.

The Inice dent has occurred in Sagar village, Madhya Pradesh.



The accused, who are habitual offenders of the area were later arrested.

Moti Nagar police station Inspector In-charge Vipin Tamrakar told the portal that the incident occurred on the intervening night of August 18-19 but the victim reported the matter only on Sunday. He said on the night of the incident, the girl's grandmother had asked her to get hay from an adjoining barn. While she was out, she was forcibly picked up by Reshu Ahirwar and his friend Puneet. Both of them, reportedly drunk, took her to a deserted place where Puneet covered her mouth so she wouldn't shout out for help while Reshu forced himself on her. The girl's pet dog then bit Puneet on his leg, forcing him to release his grip. The girl raised an alarm by shouting.

The girl’'s family arrived but the accused managed to flee. The accused had recently been booked for alcohol smuggling and were out on bail, said the report. They have been arrested and booked for rape under POCSO. A medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape.
