Akshay Kumar Gold Movie Review

Gold is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language historical sports drama film directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner. It stars Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh, and Sunny Kaushal. The movie is based on true incidents that happened in our country during the time of Independence. Story:
After India's independence, a drunk, Indian Hockey Team Manager (pre-independence), Tapan Das (Akshay Kumar), holds aspirations of playing hockey as a free country. After learning that Olympic games are scheduled again in 1948, he starts scouting talent in the country and prepares a new team for sending them to the first Olympics. All his goal is to score India's first Olympic gold medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics in Hockey. Did her achieve it? What are his hurdles for that? How did he overcome them? Forms the story of the movie.

Performances:
As Tapan Das, Akshay Kumar played his part well. He portrayed an exciting performance in the film. As a Bengali, his attire is impressive. He has played all the variations perfectly and has put up an interesting performance. The other actors like Amit Sudh, Vineeth Kumar Singh, Sunny Kaushal, Kunal Kapoor and others are good in their roles. Mouni Roy is pretty and impressive as Akshay Kumar's wife. The chemistry between Akshay and Mouni is nice. The other cast did well and made their presence felt.

Technicalities:
Alvaro's cinematography is top notch. The cinematographer has captured everything perfectly and made us feel the backdrop of 1940's. Sachin's music is pleasant. The background score of the film, especially, elevated the movie in the right places. The screenplay by Rajesh is very much attractive. The film never makes us feel bored and it is an exciting aspect of the movie. The editing is neat and there are no unnecessary drags in the movie.

Verdict:
Britain India has ruled us for years but after Independence, we have come up with our first Olympic medal in Hockey and did excellently well. This certain element was shown brilliantly in the movie. The division of Hindusthan and Pakistan was also shown nicely in the film. The way Tapan Das works to make his mark and realizes his dream is impressive. His patriotism towards the country is exceptional. The way the game was played is good. With decent performances and amazing technical work, the film is a must watch to know the story behind India's first Olympic medal in Hockey.
