Massive Police force deployed for Independence Day celebrations

Hyderabad, Aug 14: Around 1,000 police personnel will be deployed for the Independence Day celebrations at Golconda fort on Wednesday, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Anil Kumar.

He said that apart from two DCPs and four Additional DCPs, eight ACPs, 35 inspectors, 100 sub-inspectors, 400 police constables and 350 home guards will be deployed at the historical Golconda fort, where Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will unfurl the national flag.

"Before coming to the fort, Mr. Rao will pay tributes at the Amar Jawan memorial at Parade Grounds between 9.30 a.m. and 10 a.m. All roads leading to Tivoli junction from Hotel Plaza will be closed for general public during CM's visit," he said.

Explaining the traffic diversions, he said road leading to Golconda fort from Ramdevguda will be closed for general public from 7 a.m. to 12 noon.

"General public should reach fort from Seven Tombs, as Langer Houz route is reserved for VIP vehicles," he said.
