Hyderabad: Two ISIS sympathizers arrested

Hyderabad, Aug 12: In the latest update, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted the interrogation of ISIS sympathizers from last 3 days. The NIA officials have interrogated 20 youth from Old City.

The NIA was interrogating the youth suspecting that they have links with Lashkar-e-Thoiba terrorist Habib-Ul-Rahaman, who was being arrested by the NIA. It is learnt that the NIA officials, today, have seized call data and important documents of 10 youth.

Two youngsters, including a teenager from Hyderabad were arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for their alleged conspiracy to carry out terrorist acts in the country.

On August 6, the NIA officials searched seven different places in the city for leads in a terror module busted in 2016 and since then they had questioned more than a dozen youth at their Begumpet office here

The arrested persons were Mohammed Abdullah Basith, (24) from Hafeezbaba Nagar and Mohammed Abdul Qhadeer (19) of Chandrayangutta here.

Officials said that the accused were arrested to ascertain the details of the ongoing conspiracy and also their role played in furthering the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Hyderabad.

"Initial questioning done so far has brought out the involvement of accused Basith, Qhadeer and other associates pledging their allegiance to the proscribed terrorist organization ISIS to carry out terror activities in the country," officials of the investigation agency said.

Sources said that some explosive materials and arms were allegedly seized from them.
