Good news for Drunkards in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Aug 03: Here is a good news for drunkards, who can now have a few additional pegs on weekends with the Telangana State government according to permission to serve liquor in bars for one more hour in the limits of the GHMC along with its five-kilometer periphery.

The existing business hours on Friday is from 10 am to 12 am, but from now, they can serve liquor up to 1 am on Saturday.

Similarly, the existing business hours on Saturday is from 10 am to 12 midnight. However, liquor can now be served up to 1 am on Sunday.

Meanwhile, management of 14 distilleries stopped operations protesting against the steep hike in the licence fee. The management requested the Prohibition and Excise department to reconsider the decision and to reduce the license fee.

However, there was no response from officials concerned forcing the management to stop operations.
