Mission Bhagiratha: KCR Promises this by Diwali

Hyderabad, Aug 01: We all knew that Telangana biggest project is Mission Bhagiratha, for this massive project the TS Govt officials working hard in order to provide safe and pure water for the Telangana people. Actually, the project will complete as soon as possible but due to an undisclosed reason, the project extended for the further date.

From this perspective, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao instructed the Mission Bhagiratha official machinery, that, necessary arrangements are to be made for supplying clean drinking water to all the villages by August 15th and to all households by Diwali.

He urged the concerned officials to tour places where the pace of work behind schedule. He also interacted with local people's representatives, officials, work agencies to inquire about the work in progress.

@ Vision:

1. To ensure safe and sustainable PIPED drinking water supply from surface water sources at:

100 LPCD (liters per capita per day) for rural areas
135 LPCD for Municipalities
150 LPCD for Municipal Corporations
10% Quantity allocated to Industrial requirements

2. To provide each household with a tap connection

3. 10% of water in all Irrigation sources reserved for Drinking Water

@ Scope:

~ The Project comprises 26 segments in 30 districts.

~ Stages involved in the entire Water Supply chain.

~ Sourcing water from major rivers or reservoirs fed by these rivers.

~ Purify the raw water in nearby Water Treatment Plant.

~ Pump treated water to the major OHSRs and Sumps at the highest points.

~ Transmit from the highest point through a secondary pipeline network to all the habitations by gravity(98%).

~ Distribute to each household through a modern, rationalized intra village network by providing tap connections to each household.
