Polavaram, July 31: Nearly 3000 TMC of Godavari Water flows into the ocean every year. Polavaram will tap a small portion of it for irrigation and drinking purposes.

It is an enormous task to make Andhra Pradesh Drought-free forever, which benefits all 13 districts of Ap directly as well as indirectly.

Also, Vizag will get water for drinking and Industrial needs. Krishna Delta will be stabilized. Reservoir storage capacity 196.4 TMC of water. The project takes up 1.6 lakh acres of land. 40 lakh acres will be irrigated.



The stunning visuals of the Polavaram Project site have been taken by the Drone Camera. Polavaram Project was declared a national irrigation project in the Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Act, 2014.

It is a prestigious project, often described as the lifeline for Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation of the State.

This is a multi-purpose irrigation project and this dam across the Godavari River is under construction located in West Godavari District and East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh state.

It is said that after the completion of the project in 2019, the people will witness stability and all-round development in the state. The project is likely to be completed by 2019 December.
