KAPU leaders trying to save Jagan

Amaravati, July 31: YSRCP Supremo Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's statement declining to execute himself on securing reservations to Kapu community in 'education and employment' has thrown his party leaders from the community in intense trouble.

While Jagan has not come out with any clarification on his statement, Kapu leaders of his party are struggling to shield their leader to save their surface.

The spokesman of YSRCP and Kapu leader Ambati Rambabu on Monday hunted to blame it on the Telugu Desam Party leaders for altering the comments of Jagan on 'Kapu quota' issue.

He stated media that Jagan only commented on the usefulness of the implementation of the reservations to Kapu community in wake of the Supreme Court verdict.

"Some robed interests have been trying to gain political mileage out of the statement and were twisting it with hatred. It is unfortunate that even Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham had joined issue despite our lavish support to the Kapu agitation seeking reservations," Ambati said.

"What our leader said was since the reservation issue was not in awareness of the State Government as the portion of quota has upsurged to over 50%, he did not want to make further promises. He assured that he can double the allotment of funds to Kapu Corporation," Ambati asserted.

On Sunday, the other Kapu leaders of YSRCP like Kurasala Kanna Babu also made a similar attempt to safeguard Jagan, saying he was for Kapu quota and would welcome any suggestions in this regard.

But this troubleshooting drill will be of little help to the YSRCP, unless Jagan himself makes another statement giving simplification.
