Mumbai, July 31: Former Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni recently crossed landmark that he completed the 10000 runs in ODI Internationals. Having played 321 matches, he has scored an astonishing 10,046 runs at an average of 51.25 and a strike rate of 88.13.

In this format, Dhoni has scripted numerous magical moments, guiding India to many wins with his bat.

Ganguly recalled the moments during an episode of 'Breakfast with Champions'. He said that the team management had decided to send Dhoni at No.7 during the meeting. Dada though, had different ideas, as he decided to play him at No.3 after the winning the toss and choosing to bat.

The former Indian skipper further added that he had a conversation with Dhoni, wherein he told the youngster 'I'll bat 4 you go in at 3'.

In 2011, he gave the country their biggest gift, helping the team to their second World Cup title. And Dhoni became a legend in every right when India won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. He is the only skipper in the history to win all the three ICC events.

Recently, MS Dhoni may draw varied responses regarding his batting. With growing age, the former Indian skipper is struggling to maintain his hard-hitting ability with the bat.

Against England in the recent ODI series, he looked a lost man at the crease, which prompted some fans to call for his retirement.
