Pawan Kalyan question goes crazy about AMARAVATI

Hyderabad, July 30: Actor-turned-Politician Pawan Kalyan on Saturday speculated why the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh was bringing in thousands of acres for the construction of capital city at Amaravati.

Addressing a convention on 2013-Land Acquisition Act at Uddandarayunipalem in Amaravati, Pawan brought to mind that during his early discussions with Naidu, the latter told him that only 1800 acres were recommended to be acquired from the people for the capital city and some more land could be acquired by denotifying(cancellation of a notification of intent to acquire land) the forest land.

"But now, it seems the land being acquired for the capital is going to be around 1 lakh acres. The government is forcibly acquiring fertile land from farmers in the name of 'land pooling' and is doing real estate business with it. Naidu says it will be a world-class capital city. I wonder whether it is going to be a gated community (or) a capital city?" he asked.

The Janasena Party chief declared to stop the construction of the capital city if the government did not stop land acquisition from farmers.

"You can't take decisions according to your desire and humor. I won't backup you if he takes one-sided decisions without consulting farmers. I will stop the capital Amaravati and we ensure that it won't happen," he said.

He warned of Maharashtra type agitation if Amaravati land acquisition was not stopped.

"I will do rally 1 lakh farmers from every district and storm Amaravati. Let me also see how you will go first with the capital works," Pawan asserted.

Finally, Pawan professed that Janasena along with the Communist parties would do the movement against the AP capital.
