Former India captain praises Virat Kohli

New Delhi, July 29: Former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin has been praised Indian run machine Virat Kohli ahead of massive test series between India and England.

He said that, stated that he expects Kohli to overturn his poor outing from four years ago and perform well with the bat this time around.

At that time, it was his first tour... now he has got so many runs behind him and I think will perform wonderfully well," Azharuddin told AFP.

"He has led India in so many Test matches so I don't think he will have any pressure now as far as leadership is concerned."

Kohli struggled against seam bowlers in 2014 with England paceman James Anderson dismissing the right-handed batsman four times in the series.

Both sides enter the Test series off the back of two thrilling limited over contests. The three-match T20I series was won by India but England hit back and came back from 0-1 down to clinch the ODI series. India have named an 18-man squad for the first three Tests and a number of spots in the playing XI are up for grabs.
