Robbery in SBI Bank-Massive Amount theft

Anantapur, July 28: In a shocking news, The Robbery took place in Ananthapuram State Bank of India and Rs.39 lakh worth money was looted.

Robbers entered into the JNTU Branch of State Bank of India in Anantapur town of Anantapur district and decamped with Rs 35 lakh cash late last night.

According to police, two robbers, who wore masks to conceal their identity in the CCTV recordings, entered into the bank premises by scaling over the walls of a post office behind the bank around 1.30 am. As soon as they entered the bank premises, they damaged the surveillance cameras installed in the premises.

Using gas cutters, the intruders removed the windows on the rear side of the bank and entered inside. The robbers then cut open one of the chest in the bank and decamped with Rs 39 lakh cash. Though there are two other chests in the bank, the robbers did not touch them, police said.

Police said the chest that was robbed was used to maintain the cash of the JNTU accounts exclusively. Sources said the police could not get much clues from the bank premises as the robbers were masked and also wore gloves to see that they do not leave behind any fingerprints. "We are suspecting the involvement of a gang of robbers involved in bank thefts,"a senior official said.

Clues Team and sniffer dogs are pressed to track the robbers.
