Boarding Pass to be vanish Soon

Hyderabad, July 26: According to the official reports from media, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has proposed a pilot project to be conducted at Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru airports wherein domestic flyers will not have to get their boarding passes stamped 'security checked'.

Hyderabad airport already has this system in place. M A Ganapathy, Head of airport security, CISF, on July 18 wrote to the CEOs of Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore airports (DIAL, MIAL and BIAL, respectively) to stop stamping of boarding cards of domestic flyers.

A senior CISF official said MIAL "is very keen to do a pilot".

The Mumbai airport management is learnt to have approached both CISF and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security for the same.

There will be e-gate readers where passengers will have to scan the bar code on their boarding pass. Once the details are authenticated with the airline's database, passengers will be allowed through the gate one person at a time.
