Former MP Arjun Singhs wife accuses sons of harassment

New Delhi, June 21: Saroj Kumari Singh, the octogenarian wife of Madhya Pradesh's former chief minister late Arjun Singh, filed a case against her son for domestic abuse.

Saroj Singh has filed a case under section 19 of the Domestic Violence Act against her Son Ajay Singh, who is also the leader of opposition in the state assembly.

Kumari, in her petition, sought an ex-parte interim relief of being allowed to stay in the house in which Ajay Singh stays in Bhopal. She alleged that her son was not allowing her to enter the house.

"My sons Abhimanyu Singh and LoP Ajay Singh indulged in domestic violence against me and forced me out of my own house. They have also refused to take care of my maintenance which compelled me to approach the court," the complaint said.

Arriving at the court on a wheel chair accompanied by her daughter Verna Singh and industrialist Sam Verma, Saroj Singh claimed that she was in the process of challenging the settlement deed that was executed in Delhi.

The court while accepting Saroj Singh's petition refrained from passing any interim order.
