Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao arrested

Hyderabad, June 19: Telangana Former MP and Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao was forcibly taken into police custody on Tuesday after the Congress leaders staged a protest at the Bison Polo Ground opposing Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's proposal to construct the Secretariat on the land.

The Congress leader reacted strongly against KCR's Vaastu defects pointing out his preference over good governance and took a dig at the Swamis who are advising the Chief Minister by saying that even they should be given away lands.

The police stopped the protest by taking down the tent put up by the Congress leaders for the agitation following which an argument ensued between V Hanumantha Rao who warned the officials not to touch him. Eventually, the police arrested him. He was physically lifted into a waiting police vehicle and taken to a police station.
