Centre sanctions whopping funds to Telangana under UDAY scheme

Hyderabad, June 14: The Former Union Minister and Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreya on Wednesday said the Central government has sanctioned Rs 4,621 crore and Rs 743 crore under two components of UDAY scheme to Telangana State.

In a press release here, he said that after continuous persuasion with the Central government, he received a call from Minister of State for Power RK Singh informing him about the sanction of the amount to the State under the Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana(UDAY) scheme.

"The Union government provided the financial assistance to the State to strengthen the power distribution sector and it will help the State to provide 24×7 electricity supply to domestic as well as the industrial sector in the State," Dattatreya said.

He said the Central government has been providing all possible help to both Telugu States. The former Union Minister also said he has been informed by the Union Minister that the Centre was willing to extend all possible help to generate more and more solar power energy in the States so as to enable them to become self-reliant in the near future.

He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RK Singh for sanctioning the amount to the State and providing necessary help to both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
