Actress Apoorva files complaint with Cybercrime Police

Hyderabad, June 15: As we knew that junior artist Apoorva is quite popular for her roles in Telugu films and along with Sri Reddy, to some extent, she was a part of the controversial journey which was started to fight against casting couch in the industry.

A former principal of an Intermediate college Ganesh posted pictures of several Tollywood actresses on an online classified network, tagged them as "call girls" and made big bucks.

Apoorva has lodged a complaint and Hyderabad Cyber Crime police booked a case against the Ganesh under the IT Act on Wednesday.

She said that He even provided a rate card, ranging between Rs 40,000 and Rs 60,000, for the escort services and gave his mobile number.

With pictures of actresses, including a few top heroines, surfacing on classifieds platform Locanto, several customers called the culprit, Ch Ganesh of Medipally. He asked them to first deposit money into his account to avail the services. After the money was credited, he disconnected from them. Though several men got conned to the tune of Rs 1.8 lakh, none complained to police.

Police said several Tollywood actresses, including a few heroines, were worried as their pictures were posted on the site branding them as call girls. The accused told police he had suffered losses in business and wanted to recoup it.

Police found he had damaged his SIM, but they seized his mobile phone. CCS experts collected cyber forensic evidence to nail him.
