Woman passenger got sexually abused

Barmunda, June 13: Police officers on Tuesday arrested a bus conductor of a Keonjhar-bound private bus on the charge of allegedly misbehaving with a woman passenger at Baramunda bus stand in Bhubaneswar Monday.

Based on the complaint of the woman, Keonjhar town police registered a case and arrested the man while a probe was launched.

According to a complaint filed by the girl, she was the only passenger when the vehicle was parked at the Baramunda bus-stand. Taking advantage of the situation, the conductor misbehaved with her and attempted to rape her, she alleged. She further stated that she was asked to get down from the bus when she raised an alarm.

"When I boarded the bus at Baramunda, there were no passengers and the conductor tried sexually abusing me. I objected and raised an alarm, following which the conductor asked me to return the ticket and get down the bus. He threatened to kill me if I utter a word about the incident. However, soon after a few passengers boarded and the conductor did not say anything till midway when once again he asked me to get down," said the victim.
